In Spanish, Habanos means Havana cigars, and is occasionally referred to simply as cigars. In Cuba, Habanos is a government corporation that specializes in distributing all brands of cigars and tobacco produced in Cuba to the countries where it is exported and franchised to La Casa del Habano. To control distribution and protect against counterfeiting, Habanos S.A. only exports to one company in each country, such as the UK, Germany, Switzerland.
