Product Description: Talisker Port Ruighe (pronounced 'Port Ree') is a unique No Age Statement (NAS No Age Statement) whisky named after the largest port town and capital of the Isle of Skye. This whisky is a tribute to the brave Scottish merchants who sailed the seas to bring back the rich Port wine from Portugal.
Design & Characteristics: The most distinctive feature of Port Ruighe is its double aging process. After maturing in traditional American and European oak casks, the whisky is finished in casks that previously held Ruby Port wine. This process imbues the Talisker's characteristic strong, smoky, and sea-inspired flavor with a layer of sweet, rich red fruit notes from the Port cask, creating a delightful balance.
Taste:
Aroma: Opens with the sweet, characteristic peat smoke of Talisker, intertwined with the salty taste of the sea and the rich aroma of ripe red fruits such as plums, figs, and a hint of chocolate.
Taste: Rich and round. Sweet red fruit and dark chocolate flavors blend with the warm peat smoke and the characteristic spicy black pepper. Smooth on the palate.
Finish: Long, warm with a smoky, spicy pepper finish and the rich sweetness of the Port cask fruit.
