Aging Process & Characteristics: This 8-year-old version offers an extremely powerful and original Talisker experience. The whisky is matured in heavily peated refill oak casks. This allows the distillery's peaty smoke character and salty sea notes to shine through intensely. Bottled at Natural Cask Strength (59.7%), without chill filtration, this is a whisky for those who love the powerful, explosive, and uncompromising flavors of the Isle of Skye.
Taste:
Aroma: Immediately bursting with intense peat smoke, salty sea salt, seaweed, and a hint of iodine. This is followed by a light malty sweetness and a touch of characteristic black pepper.
Taste: Extremely powerful, fiery, and full-bodied. A wave of smoke and spicy black pepper assaults the palate, balanced by the sweetness of salted caramel and a hint of fruit (green apple). The whisky has a thick, oily texture.
Finish: Very long, explosive, and warm. The aftertaste is dominated by peat smoke, spicy black pepper, and salty sea notes.
