Aging Process & Characteristics: The whisky is aged in a combination of American oak casks (First-Fill ex-Bourbon and Refill) and partly in wine-seasoned casks. This blend offers a touch of sweet fruit to balance the intense smoky, peppery, and marine character. The whisky is bottled at Natural Cask Strength (55.1%), not chill-filtered.
Tasty:
Aroma: Opens with intense peat smoke, salty sea notes, black pepper, and seaweed. Follows bright fruity notes such as green apple, pear, and a hint of malty sweetness.
Taste: Extremely powerful, explosive, and spicy. The characteristic black pepper assaults the palate, accompanied by the salty sea notes and dense smoke. Sweet fruit and toffee notes emerge to balance it out.
Finish: Very long, spicy, and warm. The finish is dominated by smoke, black pepper, and salty sea notes.
