Product Description: This is a special limited edition, part of the prestigious Diageo Special Releases collection released in 2020 with the theme "Rare By Nature". This is the first time Talisker has released an 8-year-old version aged in rum casks.
Aging Process & Characteristics: This 8-year-old version offers a completely new and exciting Talisker experience. The whisky is fully matured in oak casks that previously held Pot-Still rum from the Caribbean. This unique aging process has given the Talisker's characteristic strong, smoky, and sea-inspired flavor a rich, sweet layer of molasses and tropical fruit. Bottled at a Natural Cask Strength of 57.9%, this is a whisky bursting with flavor.
Taste:
Aroma: Very intense, opening with salty sea notes and peat smoke, immediately blending with the rich sweetness of molasses, toffee, and tropical fruit (pineapple, grilled banana).
Taste: Extremely powerful, full-bodied, and explosive. The sweet toffee, molasses, and tropical fruit flavors are perfectly balanced with the saltiness of sea salt, the spiciness of black pepper, and the warm peat smoke. The whisky has a thick, oily texture.
Finish: Very long, warm, and spicy. The aftertaste is a complex blend of smoke, pepper, salt, and the rich sweetness of rum.
