Talisker 1984 is a whisky extracted from the remaining casks of the Talisker distillery in 1984 and preserved for decades. At the time, few knew about the harsh maritime conditions of Talisker, but something special about these 1984 casks led the distillery to set them aside for storage. Now, whisky enthusiasts have the opportunity to enjoy a rich golden spirit with a light smoky aroma, combined with notes of fine sand and dried seaweed on a hot sunny day. Contrary to the light, sweet, and rich oily texture at the start, the palate is then maximally stimulated by smoky pepper, leaving a strong and lasting impression.
WINE TASTING NOTES:
Aroma: Mineral and light smoky notes with hints of powder and salt, combined with smooth sandy and dried seaweed notes.
Taste: Smooth, oily texture delivers a sweet and rich malt start, soon balanced by a touch of salt in the mid-palate and a surging wave of smoky pepper. Drying on the finish.
Aftertaste: Long-lasting, with a warm spiciness and a gentle chili note, leaving a lingering warmth on the tongue.
