Royal Lochnagar 16 Y.O is like the bold and powerful waters of a wild horse from the highlands, filling the space with a refreshing sensation. Aged in American and European oak barrels, this is an alluring and easy-to-enjoy drink, especially as an aperitif.
The most prominent notes are orange peel and green apple, enveloped in a subtle woody aroma, while other notes like white grapes and burnt wood become more apparent with a touch of pure water. This is followed by an awakening of the palate with a diverse range of flavors, from sweet and tangy to a light acidity and then a hint of dry bitterness from oak.
Aroma: Full and smooth aroma. Fruity notes of orange and green apple, combined with woody and mossy notes. A touch of water enhances the spiciness and sweetness of the fruit.
Taste: Soft and sweet malt notes with fruity acidity and a hint of dry oak are clearly felt in the mid-palate. A touch of water makes the creamy texture and sweetness smoother, combined with a spicy kick for a delightful sensation.
