Royal Lochnagar 1981 is a small batch from a pioneering experiment to achieve the “angel's share,” referring to the portion of spirit lost from the cask due to evaporation during distillation. When the experiment concluded, a small amount of the liquid was transferred to the current casks and rested there for five decades. This mature whisky offers a graceful, fresh, and vibrant character with aromas of honeysuckle, rose, and physalis, and a smooth, creamy texture.
WINE TASTING NOTES:
Aroma: Offers a smooth sensation with subtle notes of honeysuckle, rose, and physalis.
Taste: Creamy, smooth, and pleasantly sweet overall, with a light, waxy feel and a hint of spiciness. Everything quickly dries down with increasing warmth.
Aftertaste: Long-lasting, warm, and intensely spicy, lingering throughout the palate.
