Born on the edge of the highlands near the coast, Oban possesses the characteristics of both land and sea, inadvertently becoming a bridge between the distinctive flavors of the highlands and the sea.
Beyond conventional standards, Oban 12 Y.O is unique for its special natural flavor, aged in charred American oak barrels. The aroma of the sea emerges first, with a combination of seaweed, salt, and black pepper. The smooth and soft palate offers sweet citrus notes, balanced by a hint of saltiness and a lingering, yet not overpowering, spiciness from freshly charred barrels.
WINE TASTING NOTES:
Aroma: Unmistakable maritime aromas, ranging from seaweed to salt and black pepper.
Taste: Smooth with subtly sweet fruity notes of orange and tangerine, balanced by a touch of salt in the mid-palate, but without overpowering the fresh peat spiciness. All of this creates a wonderful balance between woody and fresh fruit flavors.
Finish: Quite long, ending with a spicy peppery finish.
