Mannochmore 1990 is a very special whisky resulting from a small experiment in whisky maturation. First, the whisky is filled in casks, then transferred to unusually high-activity original European oak barrels for nearly three centuries, to create a completely new character. The light, immature whisky is transformed into a more attractive, darker spirit with a smooth, fine texture. The powerful flavor of orange marmalade blends with dried wood spices before forming layers of deep bitterness.
WINE TASTING NOTES:
Aroma: Gentle and almost mysterious, dry overall, initially unimpressive, but later revealing notes of polished leather on a butterscotch base with vanilla.
Taste: Thick and smooth texture, impressive with a strong bitterness.
Finish: Medium to long, slightly spicy and very dry, with a bitter-sweet-spicy nutty aftertaste.
