Port Ellen is a legendary Islay distillery, closed since 1983, making the remaining stocks of its whisky highly prized treasures sought by collectors worldwide.

This is the first release in Diageo's Prima & Ultima collection – a range of rare and exceptional single malts selected by Dr. Jim Beveridge and bottled at natural cask strength. Distilled in 1979, this whisky spent a full 40 years maturing in a single refill European oak butt.

It showcases Port Ellen's signature balance at its finest – a subtle interplay of sweetness, saltiness and smokiness, elegant and full of layered flavour after four decades in the cask.
