Aging Process & Characteristics: What sets this edition apart is that the whisky is fully matured in freshly charred American oak hogsheads. This aging process creates a strong interaction with the oak, resulting in a sweeter and spicier flavor compared to regular Talisker whiskies. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.3%, without chill filtration and without added food coloring, this version delivers a powerful, rich, and surprising Talisker experience.
Taste:
Aroma: Opens with characteristic salty sea notes, seaweed, and a subtle smoky undertone. Followed by sweet notes of honey, dried fruit (sultana), and vanilla, caramel from freshly charred oak barrels. A hint of characteristic black pepper.
Taste: Powerful and explosive on the palate. The rich sweetness of salted caramel, vanilla, and ripe fruit is perfectly balanced by the intense spiciness of black pepper and the salty taste of the sea. A warm peat smoke envelops, creating a complex structure.
Finish: Very long, warm, and spicy. The aftertaste is a blend of black pepper, sea salt, smoke, and a touch of oak sweetness.
