Known as "The Beast of Dufftown", Mortlach was the first distillery built in the town of Dufftown, Speyside, established in 1823. Renowned for its rich, meaty whisky style, thanks to a unique 2.81-times distillation process that gives it a signature complex structure.

Old gold colour; aromas of black tea, jam on toast, leather and tar mingled with dried fruit, apple upside-down cake, ginger cake and caramel; a palate that opens with spiced sponge cake, burnt raisins, buttery pastry and hot caramel, slowly developing into plums, liquorice, fruit cake and Caramac-like sweetness; a long, rich, lingering finish.
