The Montecristo L'Esprit wine collection is specially curated by Montecristo from 3 unique grape-growing regions, inspired not only by the world of cigars but also by the vast nature. Count Monte Cristo - a classic character from the pen of the great writer Alexandre Dumas - went through 3 milestones of life's ups and downs: Twilight (Le Crépuscule) - Darkness (La Nuit) - Dawn (L'Aurore), and that is also the journey the collection invites you to explore.
L'Aurore is made with Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Grenache grape varieties, coming from a selection of vines around the town of Maury, in the valley of l'Agly, benefiting from an exceptional exposure on black schist soils. Grapes are hand-harvested in separate 10kg boxes, with grapes from each plot fermented in different tanks. The skins are submerged in juice by hand to ensure the highest extraction efficiency, and the wine is aged in wooden barrels for over 18 months.
With a particularly deep red color, L'Aurore is a complex and joyful blend of vanilla, with flavors of ripe red and black fruits combined with the scent of scrub (garrigue) and licorice, with a hint of coffee. Rich and concentrated, L'Aurore offers an alluring aftertaste and an incredibly luxurious lingering finish, suitable for special and formal evening parties.
